Among IWC Schaffhausen's novelties at Watches and Wonders Geneva 2026 was a new colour for the integrated-bracelet sports watch: the Ingenieur Automatic 42 (Ref. IW338902) in dark olive green ceramic.

Ceramic case and bracelet

The case ring, bezel, case back ring and crown protection are made of dark olive green ceramic: zirconium oxide mixed with other metallic oxides to create the colour. The material has a hardness of about 1,300 on the Vickers scale, which makes it highly scratch-resistant. The surfaces are satin-finished, sandblasted and polished on the edges. The integrated bracelet is also ceramic and is attached to the case ring through its middle links, a construction typical of the modern Ingenieur.

Warm gold details contrast with the green. The crown is 18-carat 5N gold, the five bezel screws are 18-carat Armor Gold®, and the hands and appliqués are gold-plated and filled with Super-LumiNova®. The sapphire crystals are pressed directly into the ceramic case, and a thin titanium ring holds the movement in place. The watch is water-resistant to 10 bar.

Green "Grid" dial

Pellaton calibre with ceramic parts

The watch is powered by the IWC-manufactured calibre 82110, an automatic movement with Pellaton winding, a frequency of 4 Hz and a 60-hour power reserve. Several highly stressed parts are made of ceramic: the automatic wheel and pawls in black ceramic, and the central rotor bearing in white ceramic. The movement, decorated with Geneva stripes, can be seen through the sapphire case back.
