Big Pilot`s Watch Perpetual Calendar Edition «Le Petit Prince» by IWC at Sotheby`s
November 12, 2013 at Sotheby`s in Geneva (one of the oldest and largest auction houses in the world), the famous watch manufacturer IWC chaffhausen will present the exclusive model Big Pilot`s Watc Perpetual Calendar Edition «Le Petit Prince» (Ref. IW502801). This model is the tribute to the extraordinary novel by Antoine de Saint -Exupery.

A unique novelty by IWC has a round platinum case with a diameter of 46 mm and a height of 16 mm and is equipped with a dark blue dial with radiant finish. The hour markers, large Arabic numerals and rhodium-plated hands are coated with luminescent substance. At the 12 o`clock position there is the pointer of the moon phases with the company`s logo. An additional round dial with two hands at the 3 o`clock position is intended to indicate the date and power reserve. At the 6 o`clock position is a window with a single hand to indicate the month. At the 9 o`clock position is placed an additional dial with two hands to indicate the seconds and days of the week, and between the 7 and 8 o`clock positions is shown the current year.
A double anti-reflective domed sapphire crystal protects the dial. On the screwed back cover is also set a sapphire crystal, through which is possible to observe the gold rotor engraved with the silhouette of the little prince.
The novelty Big Pilot's Watc Perpetual Calendar Edition «Le Petit Prince» operates on the base of the manufacturing caliber 51613 with automatic winding system Pellatona, 62 jewels, with a frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour, 7 - day power reserve, and the rotor made of 18-carat gold.
The watch with water resistant to 6 bar is available on a brown leather strap.
The exclusive model will be sold under the hammer at the upcoming watch auction Sotheby`s, which will be held in Geneva in support of the Youth Foundation of Antoine de Saint -Exupery. All proceeds from the sale will be directed to a charity of Antoine de Saint-Exupéry pour la Jeunesse for donations to build a school in Cambodia.
