SIHH 2012: Novelty of IWC - a Pilot's Watch Double Chronograph Watch
One of the unquestionable leaders in the production of specialized pilot’s watches - the company IWC has presented at the SIHH 2012 exhibition the men's watch Pilot's Watch Double Chronograph (Ref: 377801).
The new model - from the family of Pilot's Watch, made with a clear emphasis on the dial’s design, but in its technical characteristics is not inferior to the bright decor.
The modern and striking design of the model resembles the cockpit of the aircraft. Indeed, as noted by the creators of the model, the Pilot's Watch Double Chronograph watch is made based on the plane’s instrument panel Ju-52 of 1930.
First found yourself in the cabin of the aircraft, you can really get lost on the abundance of devices. However, in a closer look, you can easily start to navigate in them. The main difference between devices is its large size and clear layout, as well as bright white hands and labels on the matte black background, covering with fluorescent compound. The most important indicators are painted in bright red.
It is also possible to characterize the dial of the Pilot's Watch Double Chronograph (Ref: 377801) watch. And, of course, this is not mere coincidence. The cockpit of legendary aircraft was still a source of inspiration for the first watches of IWC Pilot's Watch.
The functionality and design of this model from the very beginning of its creation up to now sets the standard in the segment of the pilot’s watches. All seven hands, as well as pointers of the date and day of the week so skillfully are written in a slightly modified watch dial, that the similarity with the aircraft’s devices is even stronger. This is partly due to the fact that the watch case has increased from 42 to 46 millimeters in diameter.
Three bright red elements make the watch more attractive. Subsidiary dial near the 9 o’clock position is occupied by a small second hand, which shows that the watch mechanism is working properly. Among the innovations – a red tip of the second hand chronograph and a red triangle, marking the current date on a vertical triple index, which looks like an altimeter on the plane’s dashboard.
The noticeable difference of Pilot's Watch Double Chronograph is a third button near the 10 o’clock position. It stops the split-hand and then synchronizes it with the main second hand of the chronograph that is used to control the function, which during of time measurement allows you to read the intermediate results. The inner case of mild steel for protection against magnetic fields and protected from the pressure drop a sapphire crystal give the Pilot's Watch Double Chronograph watch all the qualities required for pilot’s watches. On the wrist the watch is attached with black alligator leather strap with folding clasp. To buy the watch is possible through the official representatives of IWC.
