Spitfire Chronograph Watch by IWC at the SIHH 2012

The watch company IWC Schaffhausen, known worldwide for its unique and complicated wristwatches, at the Geneva exhibition SIHH 2012 has introduced its original model Spitfire Chronograph.
The first chronograph from the Spitfire collection was launched by the company in 2006. Due to its unique design, the watch immediately attracts the attention. Continuing to maintain the best traditions of watchmaking art, the masters of the brand IWC have developed a new Spitfire Chronograph (IW387803), made of 18 carat pink gold. To buy the Spitfire Chronograph watch is also available in stainless steel with leather strap (IW 387 802) and a steel bracelet (IW 387 804).

The novelty combines the classic elegance and technical perfection. A hand-polished to a glossy surface and a silky matt makes the Spitfire Chronograph watch unique. Slate-gray dial, decorated in the form of sunlight, creates a play of light and brilliance. Dark color of the dial and date indicator in the form altimeter is reminiscent of the instrument panel of aircraft. The window, located at the 12 o’clock position is a pointer of the minutes, and seconds are shown by the central hand, located on the main dial. Besides, at the 6 o’clock position there is a small window with a red second hand. The dial is protected by a convex double-sided antiglare sapphire crystal. On the back of the watch is engraved a fighter Spitfire.
Diameter of all models case is 43 mm, and thickness - 15.5 mm. In IW387803 watch the case is made of 18-karat rose gold and complemented by an alligator brown strap with a standard buckle of gold. The case of the IW and IW 387 802 387 804 watches are made of stainless steel. In the first model, the strap is made of brown leather with folding clasp in steel, while the second model - instead of strap has a steel bracelet with folding clasp in stainless steel with the ability to fine-tune the length. The watch water-resistant - 6 bar.
Models are equipped with the manufactory automatic movement 89,365 with frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour, power reserve 68 hours. It is collected on the 35 jewels, with functions of hours, minutes, seconds, flyback, allowing stopping and starting the second measurement at the touch of a button, as well as the second hand with stop function.
