SIHH 2013: IWC Ingenieur Constant-Force Tourbillon, IWC Ingenieur Perpetual Calendar Digital Date-Month
At the annual exhibition SIHH 2013, the company IWC has introduced its new collection Ingenieur, equipped with a variety of models. In Ingenieur watches of 2013 are embodied two design styles: they are powerful, classic models in stainless steel and sporty watches, made with innovative materials from the arsenal of "Formula 1” TM.

Ingenieur Constant-Force Tourbillon (Ref. 5900)
Attention is paid to the original watch Ingenieur Constant-Force Tourbillon (Ref. 5900) with a case of platinum and ceramics. The new design of the mechanism preserves the amplitude balance and ensures the highest precision. The caliber is equipped with two winding barrels. The black dial, decorated in the central part of the pattern, is equipped with Arabic numerals and hour markers, two central hands with luminescent coating, as well as an indicator of the phase of the moon at the 3 o’clock position. The delightful tourbillion is placed at the 9 o’clock position.
The new Ingenieur Perpetual Calendar Digital Date-Month (Ref. 3792) watch with a case of titanium aluminide, perpetual calendar and digital date display occupies the leadership position.

Modern racing cars "Formula 1” TM have a button of instant acceleration, which is activated at the right time. Analogue of this device in the model with perpetual calendar and digital date display and the cycle of leap years is the high-speed switch. Each day at midnight it accumulates energy released at the end of the month, and at the end of the year there is a simultaneous switching of all five discs-pointers. Due to three semi-counters, on the night of the New Year it can observe the movement of all devices on the dial.

According to the creative director of the brand IWC, “The new design direction of Ingenieur family features the materials such as carbon fiber, ceramic, titanium, who came to the watchmaking world from the motorsport. Individual parts of the watch also remind some of the technical features of racing cars "Formula 1” TM. For example, typical screws connect the case with a glass on the dial that successfully emphasizes the sporty spirit of the watch. Thus, continuing the family tradition of IWC, because such a design was presented in the first Ingenieur SL watch, designed by the renowned Gerald Genty. The result of combining technical innovation and distinctive design - massive, attracting top-class watches."
