Ambuchi family keeps the Florentine traditions of case making

The young Florentine brand “Anonimo” is rich in watchmaking traditions. The company masters worked in the legendary watch company “Officine Panerai” many years.
In 1997, Officine Panerai joined the famous Richemont Group, and its headquarters were moved to Switzerland. The professional team of watchmakers under the guidance of Officine Panerai ex-CEO Dino Zei started working in the watch company “Anonimo”. Antonio Ambuchi, specialized in case design and manufacture, was among the venerable watchmakers.
As the Anonimo technical director Antonio Ambuchi noted in his interview, “the Anonimo watch company has a long history of the watch cases manufacture. The traditions of their manufacture stretch to far 1939. The Anonimo masters, based on the fundamental Florentine traditions of case making, set the new tendencies in the development of watchmaking”.
Antonio Ambuchi belongs to the family of hereditary watchmakers. His forefathers had been designing and making the cases for the watch company “Officine Panerai” for a long time.
Having rich watchmaking traditions, the Anonimo masters made the technical developments, came out from collaboration with Officine Panerai, perfect. The making of cases-monoblocks should be noted as one of the Anonimo innovations. The exclusive cases are crafted in steel AISI 316L, containing 20-27% of chrome and low percentage of carbon. The case is crafted in metal, undergoing 16 various operations under digital control. Anonimo is the only brand in the world that manufactures watch cases by cutting them out of in house designs.
The bronze version of monoblock is more perfect. The sea bronze was first used in the watchmaking by Anonimo masters. This bronze is unique for its stainless and oxidation stability properties, it is not less strong than steel and can be used under the most aggressive conditions: at high temperature, with acids and other chemical substances.
The bronze case watches age with you. Such watches keep an individual print of their owner forever. Unlike glossy gold, which covers only with scratches in time, the golden yellow bronze watches acquire a beautiful patina in a month of wear. If you touch bronze with your fingers, it is covered with patina more quickly, but as each person skin pH is unique, the pattern of patina created by you will always be individual.
Due to the effect of patina, the bronze watch case becomes an exclusive personal work of art. Besides its surface beauty and originality, the bronze watch also has perfect “practical” characteristics, because the special alloy UNI 5275, also called “sea bronze”, is used in bronze watch cases. It is more resistant to corrosion, especially to sea-water corrosion, that’s why this kind of bronze is used for making shipping screw propeller.
