Jaeger-LeCoultre and Hermés Presents Hermés Atmos Clock

The well-known companies Jaeger-LeCoultre and Hermés have developed new desktop Hermés Atmos Clock. The cooperation between the two brands began in the 20s of the last century, when the first Hermes models were equipped with Jaeger-LeCoultre mechanisms. The cooperation of the two brands continued up to the late 1970's, when Hermes began manufacturing its own line of watches. With the release of new desktop model Hermés Atmos Clock their cooperation again resumed.

The new model has a spherical shape measuring 276 mm x 276 mm x 272 mm, which is composed of two layers of glass with mineral pearl-shaped beads and carefully polished by hand.
This sphere is created on the glass-production Les Cristalleries de Saint-Louis (the brand was founded in 1586.) On the top the sphere is lined with white enamel finish. Diameter of the rhodium-plated support - 172 mm, and the total weight of the clock is about 10 kg. Indication of hours and minutes is carried out by central Dauphine style hands in black.

The Hermés Atmos Clock is collected on the basis of the Swiss manufacturing caliber Jaeger-LeCoultre 560a on the 15 jewels. The mechanism is equipped by frequency of 2 vibrations per minute, and display functions of hours and minutes.
Winding of the caliber occurs through a sealed capsule which contains a mixture of gases expanding when the temperature of the environment rises and shrinking when it falls. The capsule is connected to a spring of the caliber and acts as an accordion or fur, carrying a constant winding of the mechanism.

The clock is released in a limited edition of 176 items. To buy Hermés Atmos Clock is possible at a price of 30,000 Euros.
