Rare Watches of Jaeger LeCoultre at the Antiquorum in Hong Kong
The famous auction house Antiquorum will hold in Feb. 26 auctions in The Mandarin Oriental Hotel, Hong Kong, where collectors will have the rare opportunity to choose modern or vintage watches of 452 lots. At these auctions will feature rare watches from the company Jaeger LeCoultre. Two of the three models, which should focus on, have a unique complication called Gyrotourbillon.
The fact that created by great Breguet tourbillon was used mainly for pocket watches, which most of the time were in an upright position in the pocket of the owner. The special architecture of the spherical tourbillon was first allowed to use a cylindrical hairspring. A cross-rotation of the tourbillon carriage compensates for errors in any position of the watch. Containing this unique complication the models by Jaeger LeCoultre will be submitted to Antiquorum.
Jaeger LeCoultre White Gold Gyrotourbillon One, No.02/20
Estimate: 1.9 million - 2.3 million Hong Kong dollars.
This watch has a case made of 18K white gold, and in addition to tourbillon complicated with perpetual calendar, retrograde date display ( the scale "between 10 and 2 o'clock"), a function of the equation of time and calendar, taking into account leap years. Transparent case back. Black watch strap is made of crocodile leather.
Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Gyrotourbillon 2 No. 02/20
Estimate: 1.4 million - 1.7 million Hong Kong dollars
This watch has a famous tipping reverse case, made of white gold. Dimensions of the model form 55x36 mm. The manufactory tipping case for the watch has been changed (thickness 15.8 mm), which would accommodate a spherical volume giroturbiyon. The watch water resistance is 30 meters. The watch is equipped with a pointer to the time of day and the indication of the power reserve, which is 50 hours. Inside is set decorated by hand automatic JLC 174. The black watch strap is made of crocodile leather.
