New Deep Sea Chronograph by Jaeger-LeCoultre: a professional device of the legendary origin
In scuba diving the accuracy of the measurement parameters and time are a vital necessity, and any error in the readings minutes spent under water, or a sudden stop of the movement may have irreparable consequences. Since the first dive of models presented by Swiss brand Jaeger-LeCoultre, masters of the company have one aim - to achieve absolute security.
And in 2012 the company Jaeger-LeCoultre has announced the release of another new model of diving Deep Sea Chronograph Ref. Q2068570, equipped with a current indicator of the timing functions, a cursory look at that you can immediately check whether is indexed a certain amount of time, whether it is ready to activate and display a reading on the pointers. This particular feature is inspired by the historical model of Chronoflight, which is the on-board chronograph of 1930 release, created to equip the civil and military aviation. Model Chronoflight for 30 years was a success thanks to its durability and accuracy, making it a favorite among pilots of racing cars.
The round case of the novelty from stainless steel has a diameter of 42 mm. Sapphire crystal is mounted on the front side of the case with a rotating diving bezel with a dedicated 15-minute interval. The case is waterproof to 100 meters.
Deep Sea Chronograph
Model of Deep Sea Chronograph Ref. Q2068570 is designed based on the manufacturing mechanical automatic mechanism Jaeger-LeCoultre Calibre 758, which is assembled and decorated by hand. Reliable and robust caliber of 6.8 mm thickness is composed of 340 components. The mechanism on the 47 jewels provides a 65-hour power reserve and has a balance frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour. Functions of the mechanism: hours, minutes, seconds, chronograph with 30-minute indicator at 3 o'clock position, 12-hour indicator at 9 o'clock position, and by means of the central hands, as well as the chronological operating indicator with two-color disc - white and red – at the 12 o’clock position, under the brand logo.
Matte black dial of the novelty is graded by wedge hour markers, coated with white luminescent material.
The model Deep Sea Chronograph Ref. Q2068570 is available on a black leather strap with a steel buckle.
