SIHH 2012: IWC Introduces New Wristwatch for Travelers - Pilot's Watch Worldtimer
In the age of increasing globalization, for the pilots, often flying travelers and businessmen become increasingly important to keep track of time in other time zones. The new Pilot's Watch Worldtimer watch from the company IWC, exhibited at SIHH 2012, practically solves this problem, including crossing the date line.
Men's watch Pilot's Watch Worldtimer (Ref: IW326201) indexes time while not in a semicircular window, as in previous models, but on a 24-hour ring at the edge of the dial. To make it easier to distinguish day from night, the ring is divided into two sectors - white and black. Installing the 24-hour reading of the ring is made quickly and easily with the help of the crown, and all 24 time zones, including UTC, are submitted in the visible view.
With this model it is possible the following time track in all time zones for those who need it - pilots, whose flight schedule is made with respect to UTC time, travelers who want to know what time it is at home, businesses that communicate with business partners abroad.
In addition to the 24-hour ring around the circumference of the watch are applied the names of 23 cities, each of which represents a time zone that allows you to read the required reading at a cursory glance. Bright red label «UTC» and «Date Line» contribute to the same.
The hands on the dial show the local time. When you move to a different time zone the indication on the dial can quickly move forward or backward in increments of one hour, including crossing the Date Line. The date changes synchronously with the transfer of the clockwise. Such transfer will not affect the reading of the second time zone on the 24-hour ring, and the watch mechanism continues to operate as usual.
White numerals and marks on the matte-black background of the dial and the completely covered with fluorescent compound gorgeous hands guarantee the readability of the testimony. Together with a triangular mark at the "12 o'clock" and clearly evolved minute scale, they allow to identify the Worldtimer watch as the classic model of Pilot's Watch. A new feature of the dial has an elongated vertical triple date indicator that resembles with its appearance an altimeter on the plane’s dashboard.
The watch case is made of stainless steel; the watch water resistant is up to 6 bars and thanks to an impressive size - 45 mm in diameter - makes the watch dial well manageable.
Automatic manufactory movement Calibre 30750 has a frequency balance of 28.0000 pc / h (4 Hz), 31 jewels, and power reserve - 42 hours.
The watch strap is made of black alligator leather with folding clasp. To buy the Pilot's Watch Worldtimer watch is available through the authorized representatives of IWC.
