Every year the brand presents the Cartier d'Art collection, equipped with amazing novelties, in which designers focus on different techniques of artistic crafts. Watchmakers and designers have made these excellent models manually.
In 2012, the brand has introduced four models produced in limited quantities. These models are equipped with dials, which are decorated with straw marquetry, mosaic from stone, as well as the technology of Limoges and cloisonné enamel and carved mother of pearl.
The first model - a Rotonde de Cartier, presented in white gold with a diameter of 35 mm. The dial is decorated with a koala image, portrayed with marquetry of colored straw. According to experts of the brand Cartier, the gloss of natural straw, which has not been treated with varnish, is long-lasting. The model is equipped with a manufacturing hand-wound mechanism 9601 MC. The novelty is released in a limited edition - 20 items.

Another model - Santos-Dumont XL, presented in a white gold case, is equipped with an original dial, which is decorated with horse mosaic. To get the big picture, the masters had to use different shades of jasper, obsidian, and opal. This is a filigree work, which requires a great patience and a firm hand, as some pieces of the puzzle do not exceed a square millimeter. 120 hours of labor spent for each dial.
The model is presented in two versions: with a case, decorated with diamonds - 10 items, and a case without diamonds - 40 items. The novelties are collected on the basis of caliber 430 MC.
Santos-Dumont XL Hourse Motif watch
The third model, developed by the masters of Cartier, as well as has a gorgeous design. A dial, made in the technology of Limoges enamel, is inserted into the case of a 42 mm from white gold. Limoges enamel is an ancient technique in which enamel works with different shades of gray on a completely black background, putting them layer by layer and fixing the furnace. This allows for incredible surround effect. A tiger, shown on the dial, is as if alive. It took 40 hours to make such a dial. The novelty is equipped with manual winding mechanism 9601 MC. The watch limited edition - 100 items.

The latest new item, called Tortue, is presented in white gold. The dial is decorated with a glittering parrot. In the novelty is embodied carved mother of pearl and cloisonné technique. Mother of pearl carving is extremely delicate and complex process. This material is a multi-layered, and the master, removing layer after layer, managed to achieve a stunning play of light and shadow on the feathers of birds. The watch is equipped with manufactory hand-wound caliber 430 MC. The model, like the previous three, is released in a limited edition – 80 items.
