In the middle of ÕVI century Geneva authorities adopted a law which became fate in development of world watch industry, in which citizens were forbidden to wear luxury things, jewelery and shining accessories. Simply saying, watches is part of jewelery just partly, that is why the prohibition didn't spread on it. Watchmakers got relative freedom of work, turning their technically perfect creations in masterpieces.
Manufacture Vacheron Constantin for more then 250 years produces watches, respected as standard of elegance and understated luxury. Since long time this brand choose not just popular and rich people, but also royal person, the list of which nowadays amaze with its length and names of owners of this luxury accessory.
In 1865 Emperor of China bought pocket watch Vacheron Constantin. This brand also choose Queen Victoria, Austrian Prime Minister Franz Josef. In 1953 government of Switzerland presented watch Constantin Vacheron as a present to Elisabeth II on the occasion of the coronation. On Geneva peace conference, which was in 1955, the watch of this manufacture was presented to British Prime Minister Sir Anthony Eden, the head of the France government Edgar Faure, American president Eisenhower and representative  from USSR Nikolai Bulgarin. Famous Princess Diana was the owner of one of the expensive watch Vacheron Constantin – Lady Kalla. This watch was presented to her as wedding gift. Nowadays ex-Prime Minister of Italy Silvio Berlusconi wears Vacheron Constantin. Pocket watch from this manufacture wore Russian Emperor Alexander II.         
It should be noted that brand Vacheron is loved not by royal persons. Collector remember auction Antiquorum in 2009, when  was exposed for sale watch which wore actor Marlon Brando. It was produced in 1954 by order of Zsa Zsa Gabor. She presented this luxury present in memory of premiere of movie Elia Kazan “In port”, which won Oscar in nomination “Best male role”. This gold accessory is decorated with engraving : “To Marlon-with love-Zsa Zsa 24th of June 1954”. It was bought for 18 thousand dollars, which exceeded the initial cost in six times. The person who bought it wished to stay unknown.
