Vacheron Constantin and primitive art

It considers that tendency to go back to “primitive” art nowadays is alive again. Though you can't say that artists and sculptors never address to this theme before. For example, stone men's figures on Easter island, rock paintings decorated ancient  temple constructions, with works of cubists and surrealists. Artists created in frames of these courses tried to give impressions from people to things, using for mapping of forms minimal number of strokes and details. This deliberate simplicity makes masterpieces cross-cultural that its symbolic is understanding for people who was raised in any cultural traditions and have any range of education. Nowadays permittivity is one of modern trends, overwhelming different spheres of art and even everyday life of a person, when speaking about cloths or interiors.
First conscious appeal to primitive symbolic artists attributed to Pablo Picasso. “African art? Have never heard of it!” - said famous Spanish. Though technique of painting used in the picture “Girls from Avignon” (1907) convinced of the opposite. This work of Picasso led the beginning of the course called “cubism”. Artist was inspire on creation of it by visiting department of ethnographic of Paris museum Trocadéro. From one hand, as said Picasso, he was scared, left alone with coat of dust Indian dolls and masks. This impressions born images embodied on canvas. Though impact of subjects ancient cults is not impression from forms it is special energy, which is easier to feel than say or reconstruct. The same emotions inspired  sculptor Giacometti to create “woman-spoon” (1926) after opening in Côte d'Ivoire paintings of native tribes. As timeless archetypal representations of the everlasting people about themselves and the world around them, and any notion of time as such does not change its essence. If we throw away sacral meaning of masks itself, antiques give an opportunity to feel endless changes of moments. Masters of the company Vacheron Constantin treated to roots decided to celebrate 250 line of activity. Thus collection Metiers d`Art Les Masques appeared. Geneva museum of primitive art Barbier-Mueller presented to masters of Vacheron Constantin manufacture material for creation this unique wristwatches. As a result there were selected 12 masks, decorated dials. Once a year produced set Metiers d`Art Les Masques  from four pieces. Masters managed to overwhelmed four continents and three thousand years of history of mankind. These unique watches don't have hands , and time, date and day detect with the help of special movement, presented system of discs serving four special windows. The center of dial is busy with one of small copy of the mask. Every is surrounded by inscriptions . It is poems in prose which dedicated to masks Michelle Buto. Material from which masks are made different in color, marking its uniqueness. It was hard to make and masters had to experiment for a long time with alloys and old recipes of chemical and galvanic painting. As a result, Metiers d`Art Les Masques wears images of masks of ancient nation of China, Gabon, Japanese, Indonesia, Alaska and Congo.
Collection Metiers d`Art Les Masques  became kind of synthesis of root impressions of man's soul, combination of feelings and accumulated for several millenniums of experience of genius masters.
