Girard-Perregaux - exclusive timekeeper and partner-founder of the American Academy of Motion Picture Arts Museum
Los Angeles, CA (November 28, 2012) - The Swiss watch manufacture Girard-Perregaux is proud to announce that will serve as the exclusive timekeeper and founding partner of the new Museum of the American Academy of Motion Picture Arts, which will open its doors in 2016 in Los Angeles. It will become the first American non-profit museum, entirely devoted to the history of cinema: from the beginnings to the present day.
The museum will be built by the famous architect Renzo Piano and Zoltan Pali and situated in the historic May Company building on Wilshire Boulevard in the heart of Los Angeles. Galleries, theaters, projection facilities and educational centers of the museum will be augmented exhibits from the rich collections and archives of the Academy, consisting of more than 140,000 films, 10 million photographs, 42,000 original movie posters, 100,000 movie sketches, costumes, props and film equipment, and personal things artists and others of the film industry.

As part of a unique partnership, the company Girard-Perregaux has launched a number of special projects.
