Girard-Perregaux John Harrison in honor of the English watchmaker
The watch brand Girard-Perregaux is paid tribute to the
English master John Harrison by the issue of a new watch model. This watch is from the collection ww.tc on an enamel dial of which is reproduced son the travel itinerary of the watchmaker’s son - William.
The fact was that in 1761 John Harrison created the H-4 watch. To check the reliability of their offspring, John handed the watch to his son, who went into a voyage from Portsmouth to Jamaica's Port Royal. The new watch Girard-Perregaux ww.tc John Harrison is imprinted on its dial the route of the journey, and the key cities are marked in blue on the path of the second time zone ring.
To create a detailed miniature map of the voyage on the watch dial, the masters carefully poured the enamel into the etched circuits on a plate of white gold. Then the dial was burned in a furnace at a temperature of 800 degrees, then comes the turn of diamond polishing with the file. Then the dial second firing took place - the "gilding".
Through the transparent caseback is visible an automatic Girard-Perregaux 033G0. The rotor of the self-winding, made of rose gold, is applied in the form of engraved parchment on which the dates of travel of watch John Harrison are recorded.
