A. Lange & Sohne Presents a New Version of Grand Lange 1 Watch
German watchmaker A. Lange & Sohne has presented to the fans of the wrist watches a new version of the legendary Grand Lange 1, in which retained all the key elements of the collection Lange 1: a round case, asymmetrical dial, typical for the watch-regulators location of the central hands on different discs and, of course, the double aperture of the date set at the "1" o’clock position. Large date indication in digital format is a characteristic of the Lange collection. Let us turn to the history of the famous double-aperture.
"The time must be readable from any number of" - a Saxon King Frederick Augustus II ordered such watches for the auditorium of the new court theater. Johann Christian Friedrich Gyutkes, mentor and teacher of Ferdinand A. Lange (the brand’s founder), propose the idea of a watch with large digital indication. Together they created the world's first digital watch, ornate windows of which were high above the stage Semperoper. The watch was a huge success, enabling Ferdinand A. Lange to take another bold step - establish own manufacture.
Now, after 150 years a double aperture with large numerals makes a triumphant return. The large indicator becomes a symbol of a Lange line. Decentralized large windows that show the date, are placed in the upper right of the dial. The watch with a vivid, memorable design and large readable dial has become of the Saxon company business card and opened a new chapter in its history. Lange 1 collection is constantly updated with new classical models.
The new Grand Lange 1 model is presented in several versions - in the case of platinum, yellow or pink gold. The case diameter is 40.9 mm, thickness - 8.8 mm.
The novelties are designed based on a new manufactory mechanism L095.1 with manual winding. The diameter of the caliber - 34.1 mm, consisting of 397 parts, based on 42 jewels, the vibration frequency of the balance - 21 600 pc / h, power reserve - 72 hours. The impressive three-day power reserve provides a winding barrel. The mechanism is assembled and decorated by hand; adjustment accuracy is made of the five positions.
