For the prize F. A. Lange Excellence Award, which is 10,000 Euros, this year, will fight eight young watchmakers from Denmark, Austria, Sweden, Germany, the Netherlands and the United States.

The task of the contestants will be the creation date pointer based on the mechanism ETA 6498. In addition, before that young watchmakers will be able to understand the secrets of the German factory A. Lange & Söhne by visiting shops, where the watchmakers are working.
The young watchmakers observed the assembly of the mechanisms, studied various technologies of finishing: flat polishing, pearly grinding, engraving.
