New East India Company Set by Arnold & Son
British watch brand Arnold & Son, producing its watches in Switzerland, has announced the release of a new limited edition watches East India Company Set, which includes three models, dedicated to the East India Company, which played a huge role in the expansion of trade between Europe, North and South America, India and China. The power of this commercial empire based on well-armed merchant ships, which for the implementation of military missions also regularly used by the Royal Navy.
The round case of the models is perfectly polished and made of 18-carat pink gold. Waterproof up to 30 meter, the case in diameter is 44 mm. At the 3 o'clock position, there is a fluted crown. On the top of the case is equipped by a double anti-reflective sapphire crystal. On the back cover is also set sapphire crystal.

The mother of pearl dial is decorated with hand-executed miniature paintings that reproduce by one of three paintings of East India Company ships, which are included in the collection of the London National Maritime Museum. The blued hour and minute hands, handed down on the side of the dial located at the 9 o’clock position, carry out time indication. Seconds are indexed by central second’s hand, but it should be noted that this function is modified with the "true-beat seconds" complication, very relevant in the XVIII-XIX centuries. It has been used in marine chronometers and allowed setting more accuracy longitude.
The device is based on the base of the manufacturing automatic mechanism Arnold & Son A & S6103, with ceramic ball bearings, collected on the 30 jewels. The diameter is 30.4 mm and the thickness is 7.79 mm. The unique caliber has a balance frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz), and provides a 50-hour power reserve. Finishing of the mechanism is entirely made by hand: all items are finished with circular graining, rhodium and decorated with the Cotes de Geneve pattern, bridges are beveled with polished edges, skeletonized rotor, blued screws.
The watch comes on an elegant brown alligator leather strap with a buckle in 18-carat pink gold.
The issue is limited - totally 28 sets comprising three models in each.
