Hornet World Timer Skeleton Watch by Arnold & Son at BaselWorld 2012
At the annual exhibition of BaselWorld 2012 the company Arnold & Son has submitted a sample of technical perfection - the Hornet World Timer Skeleton watch, with the creation of which the British masters have rethought the canons of Haute Horlogerie by opening new horizons for precision mechanics.
In the new model with six central hands are used the most difficult complications. To fully understand the relationship of the time with the movement of the sun and the geography of a specific location, in the Hornet World Timer Skeleton watch the “astronomical" functions are connected with a full set of calendar pointers and world time indicator.
Let's start with the equation of time - the most complex functions added to the main movement. Because of its technical complexity, this function was the decoration of the most difficult watches, and its performance - the pride of the world watch companies. Today, timepieces with equation of time are produced by no more than a dozen manufacturers.
The equation of time - is the difference between the standard time scale, in which the length of day is the same all year round (24 hours), and solar time. To determine the difference between real solar time and local scale serve the graded scale with marks from "15" to "15" and the smallest central hand.
Current time is determined by the central lance-shaped hands. The long hand with a tip in the form of the sun and the triangle (a white luminescent triangle) can orient in two different time zones. In the 5 o’clock position is posted a double aperture date, and a month pointer repeats the contour of the time scale.
The technical perfection of the watch emphasizes with the well-defined contours of the skeletonized dial, which is viewed through the gorgeous finish of the exclusive mechanism A1766 with automatic winding (diameter - 38.55 mm, thickness - 7.5 mm, 41 jewels, the frequency of oscillation of the balance - 28 800 pc / h, power reserve - 42-hour). The mechanism is set in a round stainless steel case (diameter - 47 mm). The dial of the watch is protected by a double-sided anti-glare sapphire crystal, the case back is metallic.
The watch is issued in two versions: Hornet World Timer Skeleton Ref. 1H6AS.O01A.C79F - comes on a black leather strap L, Hornet World Timer Skeleton Ref. 1H6AS.O01A.C82F – on a strap XL.
The watch is released in a limited edition of 50 items.
The creation of this model by British company Arnold & Son is set new standards in watchmaking, based on the original design, exceptional reliability and superior mechanical precision.
