New DBG Watch by Arnold & Son - with two ''heartbeats''
Presented in autumn 2012 by the Swiss company Arnold & Son a new watch DBG represents a clear example of the historical heritage of the brand. The main features of the model are two complications - a double balance and function of GMT.
Functioning on the base of the new manufacturing caliber A & S1209, this technically equipped model has completed the Instrument Collection, the models of which are made in an elegant classical style. Being established in accordance with the principles of perfect symmetry, the new DBG is equipped with two mutually independent dials to indicate the time that operate through their own winding barrels, gear with descent and balance. However, it should be noted that this is a standard set of functions for displaying two or more time zones with clockwise and minute hand tuned for indexing other testimony. As a result, the dial displays the exact time in zones other than Greenwich Mean Time with hour divisions, what are a quarter or half an hour. In addition, the sub-dial at 12 o'clock position shows the equation of time of two time zones in 24-hour format. This allows the user to see the time difference between the two zones, and find out, day or night, in the second zone. Second indication shall be in both time zones through a single long, thin hand, set in the center of the main dial. The second’s hand is a distinctive design feature of the Instrument Collection.

Along with excellent technical equipment, the novelty has an aesthetic appeal, in particular the elements of perfect symmetry in the motion of two mechanisms. Through the transparent backside with sapphire glass, there is a perfect visibility of bridges, barrels and gears. On the top, on the decorated with the Côtes de Genève pattern, the lower half of the dial, there are two triple-armed balances, fixed with cocks, which are turned to each other, thus creating a single circle. Two crowns at the positions of 3 and 9 o'clock complete the symmetrical arrangement. The crown set on the right winds two mainsprings. At each of the selected two time zones, set up with the help of its crown, ensuring that the evidence will not be moved or subjected to changes.
The manufacturing caliber A & S1209, on the base of which the watch operates, is collected by 42 jewels, has a balance frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour and a 40-hour power reserve. Diameter of the caliber is 35 mm, thickness - 3.9 mm. Functions: local time - hours, minutes, seconds, hours and minutes on the GMT, the 24-hour local time display, 24-hour GMT indicator. The caliber of nickel and silver is perfectly trimmed and covered with rhodium. Bridges are beveled by hand and polished by edges. The screws are blued. Finishing of the mechanism is circular-grained and "Côtes de Genève".
