Omega Launches Countdown 100 Days to Start XXII Olympic Winter Games 2014 in Sochi
The celebration event was held near the countdown watch Omega in GUM, with the support of the Organizing Committee "Sochi 2014", Olympic champions and ambassadors of "Sochi 2014".
Moscow, October 29, 2013 - The company Omega, the Official Timekeeper of the Olympic Games invited the Olympic champions Viktor An, Lydia Skoblikova and Alexei Yagudin, the famous musician Igor Butman and other ambassadors "Sochi- 2014" to officially start the countdown 100 days before the start of the Olympic winter Games 2014 in Sochi.
On this day, exactly at 20:14 Omega Countdown Clock documented historical moment of switching the dial to mark 100 days before the Games begin. Before the start of major international winter sports events left only a little over 3 months. The Omega events, supported by the All-Russian Olympic movement, was attended by such famous athletes as a three-time Olympic champion Viktor Antonov , the world`s six-time Olympic champion in speed skating and Ambassador of "Sochi 2014" Lydia Skoblikova, the Olympic champion Alexei Yagudin, as well as Ambassador "Sochi 2014", the well-known jazz singer Igor Butman.
In their appeals to the audience, all the athletes noted the significance of the Olympic Winter Games in Sochi for the whole country, as well as the crucial role of technology Omega timing in determining the winners of the competition. "Omega measures hundredths of a second, which separates the winners from the participants!" - said in his speech Viktor Antonov.
