BaselWorld 2012: Constellation 38 mm Day-Date Watch by Omega
At the annual exhibition BaselWorld 2012 the known watch company Omega has introduced a new model from the Constellation watch. The models of this collection are among the world's most popular and instantly recognizable works of art of watchmaking. The number of fans is much increased when, in 1982 its design was completed by cult "paws."
Thirty years later, it is appeared a new elegant watch Constellation 38mm Day-Date, equipped with a new caliber - coaxial mechanism 8602/8612, part of a family of proprietary coaxial movements made in the manufacture Omega. It is first used the indication of day and date, the change of testimony is carried out by an instantaneous jump. Due to the usage of silicon-balancing springs, there are improved accuracy and excellent stability of the operation.
The brushed round case with a diameter of 38 mm and polished "paws" is available in several versions of 18-carat red or yellow gold and stainless steel. The polished bezel is decorated with dazzling Roman numerals, dotted with 116 full cut diamonds weighing 0.13 carats. The white dial features of hour markers and faceted hour and minute hands of 18-karat gold, covered with white fluorescent substance SuperLumiNova. At the 12 o’clock position there is the window of the day of the week, and at the 6 o’clock - the date of the aperture. The space above the date window is decorated with a star, symbolizing the Constellation collection.
The dial is protected by a sapphire crystal. The back side of the watch is also covered with a sapphire crystal, which allows observing the work of the manufacturing movement. The novelty Constellation 38 mm Day-Date is complemented by a bracelet from the corresponding metal. The watch water-resistant is 100 meters.
