Watches Urwerk and space

Watches of Swiss company Urwerk don't have classic complications such as tourbillon or indicator of Moon phase. But it doesn't mean that creators of watches – Martin Fry and Felix Baumgartner are indifferent to moving of celestial bodies. Urwerk design has resemblances with futuristic apparatus for interstellar flight, is their interest to space.
Martin Fry claims that watches, which he creates are like robot: he wears the same name, but from year to year develops and improves. Such robot create by masters of the company Urwerk. In Fry's opinion, wear wristwatches, a person wears part of machine, and became partly machine himself. And watches present a model of ideal world, a small space.
It should be noted, that Fry's father was physicist by education. He worked in USA as an engineer – built lunar module, used by spaceship “Apollo” for landing. His interest for science, mostly astronomy, affected on his son. Being a kid, Fry knew a lot of secrets, which keeps dome of heaven. By his words, one of the brightest memories of his childhood is orbit insertion of first Soviet satellite. Now, the night on 4th October 1957 is not just the date of its starting, but first prerequisite of creation Urwerk watches. Another memory, later is the start of first movie “Star wars”. Fry's father that time (1970) worked in USA, in Prinston University. He couldn't ignore the watching of this premiere. Fry remembers how being under impression from review, father told about the movie and promised to take the son with him. May be that is why, the case of first watches, created by Fry, has the form of “Millennium Falcon” - spaceship on which the hero of “Star wars” Han Solo flied. 
Fry doesn't hide his love for space. He hinted that his watches have resemblances with cockpit (cabin) of rocket or plane “Stells”. The back part of the case resembles dashboard of flying apparatus because of  plenty of additional mini dials. It is indicator of power reserve, and accuracy regulator, and also 15-minutes dial and second hand.
Martin Fry and his colleague Felix Baumgartner visited Moscow museum of cosmonaut. It was their first visit to Russia. For Fry this visit had great personal meaning. He remembered that during cold war, when he grew up, everyone made believe that Soviet Union was going to throw bombs on USA. Everyone look with interest stolen pictures and fuzzy photos of Russian technique and cosmic programs. In Moscow Fry got an opportunity to see space suit, cockpit of Russian rocket and other devices. He thinks that now the view on this technologies became more optimistic and it favorably  affected on Urwerk company. In Fry opinion in consciousness of Americans or Swiss space correlates to sphere of technique and science, and for Russians it is psychology. Combining this approaches, watchmakers of the company Urwerk have inspiration from space and converted it in perfect movements.
