New Christophe Colombe Hurricane Grand Voyage Timepiece by Zenith, dedicated to Christopher Columbus
Swiss watch manufacturer Zenith has released a limited edition watch Christophe Colombe Hurricane Grand Voyage, dedicated to Christopher Columbus and his great swimming in 1492 to the shores of the American continent.
The unique model is presented in a round case with a diameter of 45 mm and a thickness of 14.8 mm in 18- carat pink gold. Water-resistant - 30 meters. At the 3 o`clock position there is the crown on which is engraved the five-pointed star – the brand`s logo. The back cover is decorated with the image of the flagship caravels of Columbus “Santa Maria”, with white sails, which are made by hand in the art-pitted enamel. On one of them, instead of the cross, is depicted the historic five-pointed star. At the bottom of the left- hand side is an engraved portrait of Christopher Columbus, and the right - a stylized image of a sextant.
The multi-level hand- guilloche dial, made of white gold, is equipped with blued hands. In the lower part of the dial is placed a glass bowl in which is inserted a balanced gyroscope controller. The gyroscope is level with the suspension, which allows rotating the object in multiple dimensions.
At the 12 o`clock position there is a ring-shaped silver dial with black Roman numerals and two hands to indicate the hours and minutes. The silver dial with a single hand at the 9 o`clock position is designed to indicate seconds. The round analog pointer silver, located at the 4 o`clock position, provides an indication of the power reserve. On the front side of the case and its back cover is installed a sapphire.
The model operates on the base of the manufacturing Swiss movement with manual winding El Primero 8805 of 939 parts: 173 parts - gyroscope and 585 parts - chain transmission connected to the barrel and provides a constant force throughout the entire duration of the caliber. It is visible on the front side of the case. The mechanism of the diameter 37 mm and the thickness of 5.85 mm is assembled by 53 jewels, has the frequency of 36,000 vibrations per hour and a 50 - hour power reserve.
The novelty is delivered on an original brown alligator strap with a triple- folding clasp in 18 -carat pink gold.
The Christophe Colombe Hurricane Grand Voyage watch is released in a limited edition of 10 items.
