BaselWorld 2012: El Primero Chronomaster Open Grande Date Moon & Sunphase by Zenith

Swiss watch company Zenith at the world exhibition BaselWorld 2012 has introduced a new exciting watch El Primero Chronomaster Open Grande Date Moon & Sunphase. The novelty is made in two versions - in the case of pink gold and stainless steel.
The novelties combine an exceptional performance of the El Primero caliber and useful watch complications, including an original indicator of the moon and sun movement across the sky.
Since 1969, with the advent of the first automatic mechanism with an integrated chronograph by company of Zenith, a collection of the famous El Primero mechanisms are constantly updated with new models. However, a hallmark of the chronograph is remained - an unusually high frequency of oscillation of balance - 10 vibrations per second, or 36,000 vibrations per hour, due to which the caliber El Primero has received worldwide recognition as the only watch mechanism for measurement and display of one tenth of a second. During the long 40 years, El Primero chronograph has gained the cult status for its exceptional accuracy and reliability.
In 2012 the company Zenith has supplemented its collection with new models El Primero Chronomaster Open Grande Date Moon & Sunphase, presented in a case with diameter of 45 mm.
Silver (a gold case) or black dial (with a steel case) of the watch is decorated with sunlight pattern. To display the movement of heavenly bodies by means of the original indicator at the 6 o’clock position and large date aperture at the 2 o’clock position the watchmakers of Zenith has manufactured a dial with a magnificent finish. The space of the minute scale and the counter at the 3 o’clock position is decorated with circular satin, and the lower part of the indicator of the Sun and the Moon movement – guilloche in sunlight pattern.
A special window, placed between the "9" and "11" o’clock positions, opens a great picture of the watch "heart", allowing you to enjoy the delicate finish of the manufactory automatic movement El Primero 4047. The caliber measures 1/10 second, and is equipped with features of hours, minutes, small second’s hand at the 9 o’clock position, big date at the 2 o’clock position, an indicator of the moon and sun movement across the sky at the 6 o’clock position - the watch complication, which may be said, is the calling card company Zenith. The original pointer reflects the simultaneous movement of the Sun and the Moon by the usage of two disks, superimposed on each other. The upper transparent disk with two polished metallic lunar disk makes a complete rotation every 59 days, and the lower one performing a function pointer to day / night - 24 hours.
The mechanism with dimensions of 30, 5 mm x 9, 05 mm, consisting of 332 parts, is assembled on the 41 jewels and equipped with a frequency of 36,000 vibrations per hour, power reserve of 50 hours.
The model Open Grande Date Moon & Sunphase is supplied on a brown (with a case of gold) or black (with a steel case) alligator strap with a folding clasp.
The watch water resistant is 50 meters.
