The TAG Heuer Carrera 1887 Titanium Racing Chronograph watch has a pronounced sporty design, which further emphasizes the use of red accents on a black background. Readable, sports and practical, they combine the functions of the time display (hour, minute, second), date (the aperture is set at the 3 o’clock position) and chronograph (minute counter - at the 12 o’clock, hour counter – at the 6 o’clock, the small second’s hand – at the 9 o’clock position). The central hour and minute hands with a "black gold" coating has luminescent inserts for optimal reading in the dark. Instead of traditional hour markers - minute scale on which the five-minute intervals are marked with applied Arabic numerals in the style of car dashboards.
Chronograph hands - red, with perfect harmony stitched red thread inserts on the strap and the button at the 2 o’clock position. On both sides, a durable sapphire crystal reserves the timepiece. Through the transparent back cover it is possible to observe the work of the mechanism Calibre 1887, consisting of 320 parts. Notable among them is a toothed gearwheel, invented in 1887 by Edward Hoer. Its interaction with the blue column wheel is reminiscent of the work of transmission in the car: the column wheel is responsible for start, stop and reset of the chronograph functions as a transmission, and a rocking toothed gearwheel - the role of adhesion. The mechanism has a 50-hour power reserve, running at 28,800 vibrations per hour.
