The watch brand Chopard has announced a new model Grand Prix de Monaco Historique Chronograph 2012, which will be officially presented at the upcoming racing Grand Prix de Monaco Historique in May 2012. In 1998 the rally Grand Prix de Monaco Historique was founded in honor of the 700th anniversary of the Grimaldi family on the throne of the principality of Monaco. Race Grand Prix de Monaco Historique is a "vintage version" of the Grand Prix of Monaco Formula 1. The new model Grand Prix de Monaco Historique Chronograph 2012 is available in two versions - in a titanium case with accents of pink gold ref. 168992-3031, and in a case of the titanium ref. 168992-3032.
The round case has a diameter of 42.4 new mm and a thickness of 14.7 mm. Crown of the model, which is located in the 3 o'clock position, is decorated on the top with a stylized image of a racing car steering wheel. The case from the front side is protected by a sapphire glass, which is also found on its screwed backside. The bezel of the model is marked by a tachymeter scale.

Indication of time is carried out on the black dial, graded by overlaid hour markers, with the central hour and minute hands coated with white fluorescent substance. Small second indicator is put at the 9 o'clock position. Date is placed in a square aperture located at 3 o'clock position. The timing functions are displayed on a 30-minute display at 12 o'clock position, 12-hour indicator at 6 o'clock position, and through the central second’s hand.
The novelty Grand Prix de Monaco Historique Chronograph 2012 operates on the basis of an automatic mechanism, which has official COSC certification as a chronometer. The mechanism is perfectly trimmed and polished, and in its self-winding rotor, decorated with a pattern Cotes de Geneve, the emblem of the Automobile Club of Monaco flaunts.
The watch strap is made of perforated gray leather and fitted with a titanium buckle.
