New Sonata Streamline Watch by Ulysse Nardin at BaselWorld 2012
Swiss watchmaker Ulysse Nardin at the world annual exhibition BaselWorld 2012 has presented its delightful Sonata Streamline watch.
The model is presented in two versions: with a titanium case (diameter of 44 mm) in combination with 18-carat gold and ceramic bezel (Ref. 675-00), and with a titanium case in combination with 18-carat rose gold (Ref. 675-01).
The new watch Sonata Streamline is characterized by its futuristic design, which fully corresponds to its exact mechanism.
Sonata is a mechanical watch, which is based on a patented automatic manufacturing caliber. Above this caliber masters, engineers and technicians have been worked for seven years. As a result of this work it was produced the caliber with unmatched precision progress and a number of functions.
The mechanism is equipped with a rotor of 22-karat gold and silicon anchor escapement. Accuracy is ensured by a silicon hairspring and the balance of the inertia by Ulysse Nardin, which is another new achievement in the watch industry.
It should be noted that the company Ulysse Nardin is one of the few brands that is in constant search for innovation. It aims to revolutionary breakthroughs in the investigation and application of advanced materials and produces all silicon components for its models in the company Sigatec, a member of the Ulysse Nardin group.
Another important characteristic of the Sonata Streamline watch is a built-in alarm function with a "cathedral" call. Testimonies of alarm can be seen in an additional window on the dial, mounted at the 2 o’clock position and indicated hours and minutes. Countdown time counter is located at 10 o’clock position. It uses a 24-hour mechanism that allows winding the alarm for the day before the desired time. The hand of the pointer moves to the left along the 24-hour scale until the bell. This allows us to see whether the alarm is set, and the hand at the 9 o’clock position shows whether the watch is wound up.
Another important feature is the presence of a second time zone display with instantaneous adjustment of the time. The indicator is located on the additional dial at the 6 o’clock position. A simple press of a button plus (+) or minus (-) lets you change the time, thanks to a patented system of specifying the second time zone. On the screen is demonstrated the local time, but alarm and power reserve indicator are configured automatically when you install the time zone.
The dials are protected by an anti-reflective sapphire glass. The case back of the watch is made of anti-reflective sapphire crystal, which allows you to enjoy the work of the mechanism.
Each version of the Sonata Streamline watch comes on a strap of black leather strap Barenia or black rubber with folding clasp.
Models are assembled on the basis of the manufacturing movement UN-67 Automatic and a 42-hour power reserve. The caliber is equipped with features: alarm clock with a "cathedral" ringing, a pointer to the countdown time, second time zone indicator with instant adjustment, large date display in double window and a quick adjustment of the dates in both directions.
The Sonata Streamline watch with its original design is full of strength and aerodynamics, which are hallmarks of the steady resourcefulness of Ulysse Nardin.
