New Watch by Ulysse Nardin
Collection of this year from the Swiss company Ulysse Nardin has expanded by a watch model Marine Chronometer Manufacture in the massive case and the black hands, evoke memories of the iconic retro and antique cuckoo watch.
The case diameter of Marine Chronometer Manufacture watch is of 45 millimeters, and it is made from gold or titanium. The model of the gold is produced in a limited edition of 350 items. The crown is surrounded by special lugs, protecting it from accidental activation. The rant with teeth is very thin - it identifies a small dial border, only additionally focusing our attention on it. But the lugs for attaching the strap on contrary are very massive and solid, but not double.
Behind the white dial is covered caliber UN-118 from the 248 components in which the patented trigger mechanism is made of a material DiamonSil by own production and hairspring - made of silicon. These materials effectively eliminate any friction that virtually excludes the need for nodes of the movement in the lubricant. All these innovations were created by Ulysse Nardin together with the Sigatec company - it is the only company in the world able to independently produce high precision components made of silicon, coupled with an artificially grown diamonds.
The power reserve of the mechanism UN-118 is 60 hours. The mechanism is designed with Cotes de Geneve pattern, as well as circular-grained. In the center of the small seconds dial is written in red "UN 118". Incidentally, with regard to the dial it is curious, but there was no place for the famous logo of the watch company. There is only a strict black label Ulysse Nardin in the center.
The hand-type indicator of the power reserve is located on the dial at the 12 o’clock position. Opposite it at the 6 o’clock position is the second hand, in a small dial of which is placed a round date window.
The Marine Chronometer Manufacture watch is delivered on a brown crocodile leather strap with dark brown stitches. This watch, incidentally, has already produced by Ulysse Nardin in various forms of registration. The new Marine Chronometer Manufacture watch is, probably, intended primarily for fans of the eternal classics.
