New Panerai Luminor 1950 Rattrapante 8 Days Titanio Watch in honor of the forthcoming regatta

A fleet of classic yachts, included into the history of sailing, in December of this year will sail from the port of Cascais, Portugal to Barbados. This is a direction of Regatta Panerai Transat Classique 2012, which is held every four years, with the financial assistance of the well-known watch company Officine Panerai. Participants of the regatta, which include sailing at the age of 100 years, will be expected a thrilling adventure in length of four thousand miles.
On the regatta, the company Officine Panerai has released an exclusive special collection Luminor 1950 Rattrapante 8 Days Titanio, limited edition of 500 items. One of the models will be a prize for the winner of the transatlantic regatta.

The novelty is presented in a 47-millimeter matt titanium case. The case design includes a corporate lever by which the crown is perfectly protected, which is a prerequisite for the 100-meter water resistance. On the backside of the model is engraved the logo of Regatta Panerai Transat Classique 2012.
Luminescent dots and hour markers characterize the large black dial, framed by a polished titanium bezel. "Sandwich" construction of the dial with two superimposed discs and fluorescent substance Super-LumiNova between them guarantees its accuracy and readability in any lighting condition.

The model Luminor 1950 Rattrapante 8 Days Titanio operates on the base of the manufacturing movement P.2006 with hand winding and split chronograph with a vertical grip and twins column wheels. Consisting of 356 components, the unique mechanism is assembled on the 34 jewels, has an 8-day power reserve and the carrying frequency of 28 800 vibrations per hour. Power reserve, the leaner indicator of which is set on the dial at the 6 o'clock position, is provided by three winding barrels. The functions of the mechanism include the indication of hours, minutes, small second’s hand, linear power reserve indicator, reset, and split-chronograph.
New Luminor 1950 Rattrapante 8 Days Titanio comes on a rubber strap with a large titanium buckle. The kit also includes an interchangeable strap and a steel screwdriver.
