SIHH-2014: Royal Oak Offshore Safari Vintage by Audemars Piguet
The watchmaker Audemars Piguet has presented at the exhibition Geneva Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie (SIHH- 2014) a new model Royal Oak Offshore Safari Vintage (Ref. 26470).
The case is made of 18 - carat pink gold or stainless steel. The case diameter - 42 mm. The bezel is made of black ceramic, fixed by eight screws. At the 3 o`clock position is set the crown protected by the protrusions on the case, the chronographic buttons are placed on the labels 2 and 4. On the top, the case is equipped by an anti-reflective sapphire crystal, also mounted on the back cover.
The silver dial with waffle - style décor "Mega Tapiserie" has applied Arabic numerals and luminescent brown hour and minute hands. The round tachometer scale is placed on brown dial flange. The small second`s hand is put on the lateral dial at the 12 o`clock position. The date is inserted into a circular aperture at the 3 o`clock position. The chronograph options are displayed on the 30-minute indicator at the 9 o`clock position, the 12- hour indicator at the 6 o`clock position, and also by a central second`s hand.
Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore Safari Vintage (Ref. 26470)
The watch is based on the manufacturing automatic mechanism Audemars Piguet 3126/3840. The caliber diameter - 29.92 mm, thickness - 7.16 mm. Consisting of 365 components, the caliber is assembled at 59 jewels, has a balance frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour (3 Hz) and 55 - hour power reserve. The skeletonized automatic winding rotor is made of 22 -karat gold on ceramic bearings. The caliber is excellent trimmed and decorated.
