Hublot Classic Fusion Tributo: the Brand's 1980 Original Returns in Yellow and White Gold
Hublot has looked back to its very first watch. The Classic Fusion Tributo, presented in Milan on 15 October 2026, reinterprets the original Hublot of 1980 with a 38 mm gold case on a rubber strap. It is offered in yellow gold and in white gold, priced at $30,900 excluding taxes. It is not a limited edition.
Back to 1980
Hublot was founded in 1980 by Carlo Crocco, and its first watch, signed MDM Genève, was a gold watch on a natural rubber strap – a combination that was unusual for a luxury watch at the time. The Tributo keeps the essential elements of that design: a round case with a porthole-shaped bezel held by 12 screws and the "MDM" signature at six o'clock.
Two versions
- Yellow gold (Ref. 262.VX.1130.RX.MDM) with a lacquered dial
- White gold (Ref. 262.WX.6870.RX.MDM) with a black onyx dial and blackened bezel screws
Specifications at a glance
- Case: 38 mm, 9.5 mm thick, 18k yellow or white gold, sapphire crystal
- Water resistance: 100 m
- Movement: self-winding, hours, minutes, seconds and date, 50-hour power reserve
- Strap: rubber, titanium folding clasp
- Price: $30,900 excluding taxes
The original 1980 watch was powered by a quartz movement; the Tributo uses a mechanical self-winding calibre. The watch is available from Hublot boutiques and authorised retailers.
