Timeless elegance: Classique la Musicale 7800 by Breguet

The original model Classique “La Musicale” 7800 by the watch company Breguet immediately attracted worldwide attention, thanks to a patented musical mechanism.
This year, the brand has pleased its fans with a new version of the model (Ref. 7800BR/AA/9YV 02), equipped by a unique Breguet manufacturing caliber with automatic winding. To click the button at the 10 o'clock or at the set alarm time, the model from the Classique collection performs Scherzo, the 7th number of orchestral Suite for Flute and Strings number 2 in B Minor by Johann Sebastian Bach. This was made possible thanks to a mechanism that resembles a music box, but instead of the traditional cylinder used to drive pins, consistently interacting with the 15-tooth keyboard.
This time the volume was increased to hear a melody without prejudice to the water resistance. It is a question of metallic glass membrane installed under the caliber. Because the membrane became possible to make several holes in the back cover of the case made of gold to create a Helmholtz resonator to broadcast audio while maintaining impermeability to 30 meters. Research advances of Breguet in magnetism have also led to the creation of a magnetic regulator for the song. This patented system consists of isolated magnets in the cell, reduces background noise at the same time preventing the deterioration inherent in conventional centrifugal regulator. However, the most important thing - the system provides the melody in the right pace.

In the center of the dial, hand-polished by the diamond tool, are placed the hour, minute and second’s hands, performed in the typical style of Breguet. The second’s hand is decorated with a treble clef. At the 12 o’clock position is a power-reserve indicator. Between 9 and 10 o’clock position is an indicator showing the melody. During song playback, the dial is connected to the disc with the pins, makes a complete revolution. In this case, for 20-25-second play the dial as if comes to life, shimmering in different colors, thanks to guilloche decoration. The locking system, developed by Breguet, always provides enough power to play music as a whole.
The rotating guilloche dial, covered with platinum, is equipped with Roman numerals on the flange.
The dial is housed in a round case with diameter of 48 mm in 18-carat pink gold with notes engraved on the sides.
The watch operates on the base of the automatic movement 901, 17 ¼ lines, by 59 jewels. Power reserve - 45 hours with the included audio and 55 hours with the sound turned off. The novelty Classique la Musicale 7800 comes on a brown leather strap.
Like previous models, the novelty is also sold in a box made of wood, used for making musical instruments.
