Rolex opens its new building in Bienne

In October 16, 2012 in the Swiss town Bienne was held the presentation of a new Rolex factory building. The complex is one of the largest industrial construction projects in Switzerland over the past few years.

The construction of this huge building, the area of which is 92,000 square meters, has been continuing since 2009. The new building is different by its ultra-modern architecture and unusual design solutions. It meets all environmental requirements and safety standards and has a rational use of energy.

Thus, today all of the components of Rolex watches (case, dial, bracelet) are produced exclusively in the walls of its own manufacture. Three manufacturing facilities of the company are located in Geneva and one in Bienne. Such a strategy, developed 10 years ago, allows the company to remain an independent producer and a leader in the Swiss watch industry.
