James Cameron and Wristwatch by Rolex
Famous Hollywood film director James Cameron will go to one of the deepest point in the World Ocean - sink to the bottom of the Mariana Trench, together with the wrist watches Rolex; it is one of the main sponsors of this extraordinary journey into the depths of the sea.
The unprecedented plunge will be done at 200 miles southwest of Guam, located in the Pacific. The mission of the famous director is to conduct deep-sea research in the Mariana Trench, which is the deepest place on earth - more than 11,000 meters. Of course, physically it is incapable for a simple man just to sink to such depths, so to fulfill the mission will be used the managed bathyscaphe called Challenger Deep. It will hold at the bottom of the Pacific 6 hours, collecting special samples for biologists, marine geologists and geophysicists, as well as astrobiologists.
Perhaps this event will be the material for the future film of the famous director. On the other hand, he seems more passionate about the scientific aspect of this study. Cameron says:
"The deepest points of the unexplored on the planet are able to donate a huge amount of scientific material, which will be enough for a couple of hundred years of research. My goal is to enrich scientific legacy that will remain for future generations. And thanks to the coverage of events on the Internet and other means of media, we want to encourage researchers from all over the World."
Of course, the watch company Rolex Swiss will not miss this luxury chance to advertise watches. You may agree, to buy a watch passing a real deep last test, and belonging to such a prestigious brand, wishes everyone. This advertising campaign is carried out in 1960, when on the case of bathyscaphe "Trieste" was attached the men's watch Rolex Deepsea. Probably, the experimental watch will also be enshrined on the bathyscaphe, within which people sink to the seabed, where the pressure is so great that within a few fractions of a second a human body can turn into a pancake.
Jean Ricardo Marini, Director General of Rolex SA, comments on the upcoming event as follows:
"We express our love of the sea due to the active support of deep-sea researches. Because of this we not only have the opportunity to improve own technologies, but also to promote innovation in science. We are very proud that the Rolex watch company will take part in this historic event."
After extensive coverage of this immersion in the media the production of the watch company Rolex, which is one of the main sponsors, probably, will get more popular. And the idea to buy a Rolex Deepsea watch will be a cherished dream of every diver ... Provided, of course, that they will endure this extraordinary test.
