New Admiral's Cup Challenger 48 Day & Night Watch by Corum: the call to adventure
Light, but at the same time inspiring reliability and strength, a new watch Admiral's Cup Challenger 48 Day & Night (Ref. 171.951.95/0061 AN12), presented in 2012 by the Swiss watch company Corum, for sure, will be a beacon for business travelers and adventurers.
Featuring dial with world map in the center, the novelty provides the perfect readability of the dual time zone and day / night indication. Elegant, with elements of style in design, the model Admiral's Cup Challenger 48 Day & Night (Ref. 171.951.95/0061 AN12) is available in two limited edition with white and black dials, representing the day and night.
The novelty is characterized by all elements of brand Corum in the external design, which make the models from the Admiral's Cup collection recognizable at first sight. And the map on the dial allows the owner of the watch constantly to "keep" the planet Earth within striking distance. If you look at the map from the North Pole, you can instantly record the second time zone, and to determine the night / day anywhere in the world.
The function of the night / day indication for the first time was used by the model from the collection of Admiral's Cup. The line Admiral's Cup, established in 1960, for over 50 years has become emblematic of the brand with its 12-sided bezel and maritime pennants on the inner ring, also used in the design of the novelty.

Thanks to an impressive case of 48 mm from titanium Grade 5, the readability of the Admiral's Cup Challenger 48 Day & Night (Ref. 171.951.95/0061 AN12) dial is excellent and clear. The skeletonized central hour and minute hands, in the style of dauphine, are covered with white luminous material on the ends, while the second hand is adorned with the emblem of Corum. The circular aperture of the date at the 3 o'clock position ends the common set of the functions.
In the center of the dial, decorated with intricate Côtes de Genève pattern, is provided with a map of the world and is divided into 24 sections of the time zone on a transparent rotating disc. The disc has a dual function: it rotates around the perimeter and has a small white indicator indicates the second time zone, regulated by the crown. This feature allows the user to know the time anywhere in the world at any time. Moreover, when the white indicator reaches to the GMT point, half-toned dial shows how much of the planet is illuminated by the Sun, and how much of it is plunged into darkness. The dial is framed by a black bezel from vulcanized rubber and is protected by anti-reflective sapphire crystal, also installed on the backside of the watch.
