Glashütte Original Senator Aventurine in Platinum and Red Gold

Glashütte Original has added two Senator Aventurine models to its permanent collection: Art Déco Blue in platinum (ref. 1-36-16-40-03-01) and Art Nouveau Green in red gold (ref. 1-36-16-41-05-01). Both are 40 mm watches with hours and minutes only and the automatic Calibre 36-16. According to Gear Patrol, they cost $40,400 and $38,200.
Two dials, two metals
The dials are made of aventurine glass, which gets its sparkle from metal oxides added during production. The particles are distributed irregularly, so no two dials are the same. Black lacquer on the back of the glass makes the reflections stand out. The platinum Art Déco Blue has a dark blue dial and a blue Louisiana alligator strap. The red gold Art Nouveau Green has a dark green dial and a brown nubuck-finished alligator strap.

Calibre 36-16
The automatic Calibre 36-16 has a 100-hour power reserve and a silicon balance spring. The sapphire case back shows a three-quarter plate with Glashütte stripes, a hand-engraved balance cock and a skeletonized double-G rotor with a 21K gold oscillating weight. Both watches are Atelier pieces: one watchmaker assembles and regulates each watch. They are not limited.
