A New Watch Glashutte Original Senator Observer 1911 - Julius Assmann
The German watchmaker Glashutte Original presents a limited edition model Senator Observer 1911 - Julius Assmann. This beautiful watch is dedicated to the memory of two outstanding individuals. One of them is the father of watchmaking in Glashutte - Julius Assman, whose name is perpetuated in the name of the model. The second - the polar explorer Roald Amundsen, who in 1910 bought the Glashutte wristwatch, then visited with it at the South Pole.
The first character as if tells about the highest quality and technical reliability of Senator Observer 1911 - Julius Assmann, and the second - proved this quality by own example during an expedition in 1911.
The watch is clad in 44 - mm white gold classic round case. On its case back is engraved the date of the South Pole conquest in December 14, 1911 and its one hundredth anniversary of December 14, 2011. Also on the case back is printed an inscription "Tribute to R. Amundsen" and "Julius Assmann - Glashutte i / SA". White watch dial of Senator Observer 1911 - Julius Assmann is covered by the three layers of lacquer. The minute markings is made in the form of so-called "railroad tracks". It has the blued hands. Hourly marking is pear-shaped. Ten Arabic numerals – the markers 3 and 9 are closed by small dials of the second hand and power reserve.
In the watch is set an automatic manufactory mechanism 100-14 with bidirectional rotor in 21-karat gold and two winding barrels. The seconds are measured at a small lateral dial set at the position of "9 o’clock", and opposite it is a round hand-type pointer of the power reserve (at the "3 o'clock"). Downstairs, in the direction of "6 o’clock" is a large date window. The watch has an excellent clarity of all readings due to the perfectly dial regularity. By the way the dial looks like smiling with two counters-eyes and the date aperture beneath. At the same time the watch can keep absolutely classic image - it can be the perfect accompaniment, for example, to a business suit. A very decent watch by the reputable German company. Yes, they are not Swiss, but the Germans are no less famous for their punctuality and attention to detail.
Senator Observer 1911 - Julius Assmann is delivered on a leather dark-brown strap. The release is in a limited edition of 25 instances.
