The movement is held by a public organization Movember Foundation, created to support the research of cancer in men. It all started in a pub in Australia, in Melbourne, 2003, when a group of friends as a joke invented a campaign to advertise the mustache. Growing a mustache for a month has become a tradition in 21 countries. The advertising campaign is promoting the project to raise funds and awareness of prostate and testicular cancer, as well as mental illness.
The watchmaker Maurice Lacroix with the motto: "It’s time to raise a mustache" has joined to the charity initiative.
In honor of the collaboration, the brand Maurice Lacroix has released a limited edition of 11 items - the Pontos S watch with a mustache and the Movember’s logo on the side of the case. The proceeds from the sales of the model will be transferred to the account of Movember.
