New Racing Chronographe Flyback à Rattrapante Grande Date Watch by Blancpain at the BaselWorld 2012

At the annual exhibition BaselWorld 2012 the watch company Blancpain has introduced a new model from the L-evolution collection - a Chronographe Flyback à Rattrapante Grande Date watch.

Key elements of the Chronographe Flyback à Rattrapante Grande Date watch is made of carbon fiber - ultra-light material with high resistance to external influences.
The carbon fiber is also different by the aesthetic appeal and rich decorative features that allow free to experiment with design. A dial, bezel and back side of the watch are made of this material.
The novelty has a distinctly sporty design that is even more emphasized with the usage of red accents on a black background.

The sporty model Chronographe Flyback à Rattrapante Grande Date is collected on the basis of the mechanism 69F9 (composed of 409 components, 44 jewels, power reserve is 40 hours). The caliber is equipped with a column wheel, which ensures accuracy and vertical fittings, thus avoiding the undesirable movement of the hands when you turn on the chronograph.
The mechanism is equipped with a split-second chronograph function, which allows to read the intermediate testimony of time by means of the so-called split-second’s hand (rattrapante or "catch-up" in French), which is located above the central second hand. To activate the split function uses a button located on the lateral surface of the case at the 8 o’clock position. When it is activated the split-hand stops allowing the reading testimony of the intermediate time, while the central second’s hand continues its course. The second time you click on the split-hand "catches up" a central second hand. "Split function" of the chronograph enables the reset and instant restart functions.
In addition to the split-function the mechanism has also a function of indicating hours, minutes, seconds (by using central hands), date (double aperture is located at the "6" o'clock position) and chronograph (12-hour and 30 minute pointers are at the 3 and 9 o’clock positions).

Multi-function mechanism has both technical and aesthetic excellence. All components of the caliber 69F9 are shot blasting and have a protective coating (red 5N gold-plated or rhodium). Bridges and the plate of the mechanism are decorated by hand. The beautifully decorated caliber can be monitored through the transparent back side.
The watch is available in two versions - in a case of 18 K white gold (Ref. 8886F-1503-52B) or pink gold (8886F-3603-52B).
The novelties by Blancpain are available on a black strap of Alcantara. The strap has a carbon fiber inserts, which are reminiscent of the latest developments in the field of designing racing cars.
