Tradition 8-Day Squelette Watch by Blancpain at BaselWorld 2012

At the annual exhibition BaselWorld 2012 the company Blancpain has introduced a new skeletonized model from a series of Villeret – a watch Tradition 8-Day Squelette (Ref. 6633.1500.55B).
The Villeret collection was established in early 80s of last century. The inspiration for the creation of the "most classical" line of watches became the city of Wheeler, in which the company Blancpain was founded. Over 30 years the watches of this series reflect the fundamental values that make up the brand’s philosophy.
Rigorous design and minimalist forms for 30 years have been the hallmark of the lineup. In 2010, the design of the line has been revised and reinterpreted in a contemporary manner, but the overall design concept did not change: the case of new models kept fine outlines, which style permeated with the spirit of modernity, though is a classic in the sense of traditionalism.
New models Villeret are absorbed the results of the latest developments of Blancpain in the field of movements.

In the current year at the exhibition BaselWorld 2012 the company introduced a model Tradition 8-Day Squelette with a skeletonized dial, the rounded contours of which are stressed by the gorgeous finish of the mechanism.
Decorating of the caliber includes three processes - skeletonizing, beveling and engraving. By the process of skeletonizing it is achieved a perfect balance that ensures reliability and smooth operation of the mechanism. The second stage is grinding and beveling of the movement’s components, in the result of which the curved surfaces and the interior angles of the mechanism are treated and creates a striking visual effect. The final touch in the harmony of the overall design is brought by an engraver. The engraving is done by hand. Bridges and the main plate are decorated with a pattern in the form of curls.
The novelty of Blancpain is collected on the basis of the manufacturing caliber 1333SQ with manual winding. The mechanism is equipped with a titanium balance, Breguet spiral, and three series connected barrels, providing an 8-day power reserve. The caliber is set into the 38 mm case made of white gold.
