Watch Company Edox became the official timekeeper of the Dakar rally-raid

Recently, the Swiss watch company Edox has introduced a new chronograph for rally pilots. Today Edox announces his new role - the official timekeeper of Dakar Rally Raid. This famous race was set up by Thierry Sabin in 1979 and is undoubtedly the most grueling in the world. However, despite all the difficulties, in participating Dakar Rally Raid more than 600 pilots are seeking. First rally was held in Africa, but in 2009 it was moved to South America.
Swiss watch company Edox plans to bring to the rally-raid his commitment to excellence, perfection, reliability and manufacturability. The director of the watch company Alexander Strambini says about the new partnership:
"To conclude this partnership is a great honor for us. This is an opportunity to test our know-how and the embodiment of all our knowledge in a dizzying adventure of Dakar Rally Raid".
Does this mean that the watch will be tested in the rally "field trials" – we don’t know? But perhaps it’s possible to experience the embodied know-how simply handing the watch winners.
Director of the Dakar Rally Raid Eten Lavigne also said:
"We are pleased to a new official timekeeper. Edox watches quality and great experience in the sports world, for example in the championship on rally racing or water Class-1, will be now benefits, separated from Dakar."
Nowadays the Swiss watch company is also the official timekeeper of the WRC and Class-1 in speedboats. The partnership of Edox with Dakar Rally Raid will last till 2014-th, which promises many more exciting new sports watches.
