Perrelet through the ages

Perrelet watch company is one of the oldest watch brands in the world. It was founded in 1777. It was the time when the first automatic watch movement was created. The prerequisites for the brand foundation appeared in 1729 when in Le Locle (Switzerland) the great future world-famous inventor was born. He was Abraham Louis Brequet. When he was 20 years old he studied horology himself and created own watch models. For this purpose he created a number of tools and instruments which he used for movements and their components making.
Some years passed and Perrelet became a famous watch-maker, he was a real genius . He created watches supplied with duplex release, two-phase and cylindrical release, calendar and synchronizing. He was fond of perpetual motion machine creation. He thought it to be supplied with automatic rewind and rotors. Since 1780 such kind of watches. Created by Abraham Louis Brequet has been produced. Their quality does not lose its fame even in the modern world.
The occupation of Abraham Louis Perrelet was carried on by his grandson – Louis-Frederick Perrelet. Louis was very interested in horology since early childhood and started to show real inclination to his grandfather's work when he was very small. He knew the way with mathematics and mechanics. He studied horology in Paris and gained reputation of a very respectable watch-maker after he invented Perrelet astronomic watch in 1815. He was a courtier watchmaker of three French Kings: Louis XVIII, Louis-Philippe and Charles X.

Louis-Frederick reached the peak of his career in 1820 when he became a member of a closed club of watch-makers which was considered to be a very respectable organization.
Such an event served for him as a kind of recognition which made him well-known and respectable European specialist of horology. In 1820 in France at the exhibition he presented a new incomparable Split-second chronograph. Later in 1827 Louis-Frederick patented his creation and three years after it he got a prize – Gold Medal of Science Academy for creation of Split-chronograph. This chronograph is in perfect condition today, anyone can look at it in Geneva in Patek Philippe museum.It is one of the most remarkable creations in horology world which appeared in XIX century. In 1834 there was an exhibition at which Louis-Frederick Brequet was awarded by “Ordre national de la Légion d'honneur”.
World-famous brand's history comes from a very small work-shop of a watch-maker where there were made watches for prosperous customers. Time passed and in 1993 Flavio Odemar really prosperous collector decided to renew Perrelet watch brand. He opened Perrelet S. A. company in Neuchâtel where soon the first renewed watch models created on the base of the old Perrelet movements were created. Watch-makers while creating these new, models took into account all the innovations and latest technologies.

Taday Perrelet brand offers such male collections as Limited Edition, Exclusive Complications, Classic Collection and Titanium Collection and female watch collections Limited Edition, Classic Collection and Exclusive Complications. Every model is unique and is worthy to be considered profoundly.
Exclusive Complications collection for example contain such models as Double Rotor Turbine and Turbine XL – which are supplied with double rotor.
Turbine watch are very bright, the case is very loud and the dial is stylized like a turbine of an airplane which rotor contain 12 sharp blades. It is made of a steel DLC-coated or titanium of different colours (according to the total colour palete of a watch model). It goes without saying that these are stylish models for self-confident and very active people.
Except the models which have been mentioned recently, Perrelet has other special watches like Moonphase and Retrograde Hour. The fist mentioned model is called Moonphase because it has the indicator of the current moon-phase. The second model has rather unusual technique and stylistic design being supplied with jumping-hour-regulator and being made of stainless steel, titanium or gold and supplied with genuine alligator leather strap. Every Perrelet model is rather stylish, modern and reliable because they are made of very solid materials.

Limited Edition is a series ow watches which contain the most exclusive models of watches released in limited edition. Tourbillon model is also included in their number. It is a watch model which supplied with a tourbillon and its design is very unusual. The case is made of rose gold or stainless steel DLC-coated. The crystal is made of sapphire crystal anti-reflective coated. The strap is made of real rubber.
Titanium Collection (as it can be seen from the name) contain watches which cases are made of titanium.
