 Cooperation of the famous watch company Certina and the world of international motorsport fwas based on concepts such as accuracy, pioneering spirit, reliability and, of course, dynamic. It all started back in the middle of the last century, when the company linked itself with the names of sports legends like Muhammad Ali, Mike Doohan, Alex Crivillé, Petter Solberg, Sete Gibernau, Timo Glock, Thomas Lüthi, Robert Kubica and many others, with the title of champions.
In 2005, the famous watch company Certina has become an official partner of the team Formula 1 Sauber. Front reflectors of side pontoons of team racing cars, as well as helmets, shields of talented drivers Kamui Kobayashi and Sergio Perez were decorated with the logo of Swiss "sport" brand. In 2010 a season of Formula 1 Sauber was rather unfortunate for the team in a few races. However, the mid-season was more successful: the team won the required number of points. The possessor of the title "2010 Newbie” Kamui Kobayashi, according to the authoritative British magazine “Autosport”, was distinguished by his racing style and maneuverability. In the same year, construction of the car race Formula-1 has undergone many changes. Minimum weight increased from 620 to 640 kg. This norm was established by technical regulations. This regulation was allowed to use recovery system of the kinetic energy - KERS (Kinetic Energy Recovery Systems) by the team. In connection with these changes, many teams, including the team Sauber F1, revised the design of their cars. Another innovation was the adjustability of the rear spoiler angle of attack of the cab.

Long-term and close cooperation with the Technical Director of the Swiss Formula 1 team Peter Sauber for the company Certina is very important. Support the development of motorsport by the company had its invaluable place. However, for the company this close collaboration is a great way to advertise the brand: the company’s logo brightly adorns the parts of the machine of drivers Kamui Kobayashi and Sergio Perez.

 Since 2010, the rising star of the racing series GP2 – a talented young Fabio Leimer - enlisted the support of this famous watch manufacture. This cooperation was continued in 2011 season. Race car, helmet and overalls Leimer are decorated with the logo of Certina. Fabio Leimer is another very talented driver who the watchmaker Certina supports.
Over the years the brand Certina is inextricably associated with such great riders like Thomas Luthi, Alex Krivill, Robert Kubica and many others who began their partnership with the dawn of his career, following his worldwide fame. About his talented protégé the current president Certina says: "Victory of Fabio last year in Barcelona proved that he has the necessary speed and skills that will ensure him a long professional life. We are very pleased to continue our partnership with such a dynamic and smiling rider”.
