In November 13, this year in Geneva at the Hotel Beau-Rivage next Sotheby's auction will be held in the category Vintage & Modern Watches. At the auction will feature 300 lots for a total of between 6 and 8 million Swiss francs. The list includes models such companies as Patek Philippe, Rolex, Vacheron Constantin, Audemars Piguet, Cartier, IWC and Panerai.
"This auction - a kind of triumph of elegance and style - said Geoffroy Ader, the head of watches Sotheby's in Europe. - We selected rare copies of vintage and modern watches that show affiliation of Fine Mechanics to the sphere of high art. Two "pearls" of auction - the models of Patek Philippe and Vacheron Constantin with minute repeater, convey the essence of old timepieces, since they are unique models created by the Geneva watchmaker in the years 1940-50, a period which became the most important and enjoyable for Haute Horlogerie."
