New partnership of Longines

Longines has signed a new partnership agreement with FEGENTRI - International Association of jockeys. Founded in 1995, the federation has in its list members from 25 countries and its aim is to promote and develop international races for amateur riders. Under the terms of this agreement, Longines will be the official partner and official watch of FEGENTRI. In addition, Longines will be named in the World Cup riders and equestrians, as well as in the following categories: Longines World FEGENTRI Championship Rankings for Lady Riders and the Longines World FEGENTRI Championship Rankings for Gentlemen Riders.

FEGENTRI organize two World Championships, one for women and one for men which are held in seventeen countries in Europe, North America, Asia and Africa on the world's most prestigious racecourses. Amateurs riders included in the list of countries-members of the association can participate. Two championship - Longines World FEGENTRI Championship Rankings for Lady Riders and the Longines World FEGENTRI Championship Rankings for Gentlemen Riders - include in its program a series of jumps and racing.

The President of the FEGENTRI, Nathalie Bélinguier commented: “This new partnership is an important sign of recognition for all the members of our Federation. Longines is involved in many prestigious equestrian events around the world at the professional level. We are delighted to be associated to them for the world championships for amateur race riders.”

Walter von Känel, President of Longines added: “With this partnership, we add a new aspect to our passion for equestrian sports. We think that supporting amateur riders is totally in the vein of our slogan “Elegance is an attitude”. We are very happy to associate our name with the FENGENTRI.”

The new partnership is part of the ongoing commitment Longines to the the world of equestrian sports. As a partner of many events around the world, Longines has demonstrated its passion for equestrian sport since 1878. That year the company introduced its first Longines chronograph, one of which was decorated with a jockey and horse, engraved on the case back.
