Eric Clapton Watch was sold at Christie's for $ 3.6 million

One of the main lots at the famous auction Christie's, held in autumn 2012 in Geneva, became the platinum watch of the Swiss company Patek Philippe, owned by British rock musician Eric Clapton. The watch produced in 1987 and equipped with a perpetual calendar, moon phase indicator, and chronograph, went under the hammer for a fabulous figure - 3.6 million.
Not so long ago, just it was in the past month, the celebrated musician presented at auction the picture "Abstract Painting (809-4)" from his private collection. The picture painted by the German artist Gerhard Richter, set a record at auction Sotheby's in London. It was estimated at 34.2 million dollars. The sold painting is one of three works of the artist, bought by Clapton in 2001 just for $ 3.4 million.

It should be noted that a 67-year-old rocker has a rather large collection of works of art. For example, in 2011, Eric Clapton for 2.15 million dollars sold 70 guitars at auction Bonhams.
