BaselWorld 2012: Bell & Ross Company Introduces Aviation Collection. BR01 Altimeter Watch

Aviation Collection - one of the most famous watch company Bell & Ross, inspired for the creation by the dashboard instruments of the cockpit, and, of course, the romance of the conquest of outer space.
The watch from this line, as noted by the master Bell & Ross, reflects the four fundamental requirements for appliances located on the cockpit of the aircraft, namely: functionality, accuracy, precision and water resistance.
At the annual international exhibition BaselWorld 2012 the company has introduced three new models of the famous line in its design fully reflecting the graphic style of professional instrumentation tools: watches BR01 Horizon, BR01 Altimeter and BR01 Turn Coordinator.
However, their original appearance and appeal to the celestial theme have become the peculiarity of the watches. Bell & Ross Company has prepared a little surprise for passionate collectors. For example, Swiss watches, presented at the exhibition, will go on sale in limited quantities - only 999 instances, so to buy the watches, as if torn from the aircraft cockpit cannot for everyone.
The company representatives have also noted that each model will be presented in its own box: a pleasant surprise for collectors.

BR01 Altimeter watch is made in association with the altimeter instrument, repeating its design and features of the case.
Altimeter is a flight and navigational instrument that specifies the height of the flight.
The main function of this device in the airplane, as its name implies, is to determine the height at which the aircraft is located. By the same principle the operation can be divided into a barometric and radio.
Barometric altimeter determines the height of the plane, measuring the pressure of the atmosphere, the higher - the thinner is the air. In fact, barometric altimeter does not measure the very height and air pressure.
As for the radio altimeter, its operating principle is to measure the length of time between the sending and reception of electromagnetic waves that are reflected from the surface up to which the height is measured (ground or water), allow to judge the height of the aircraft.
As noted by some experts, in contrast to the barometric altimeter the radio altimeter measures the flight altitude, because it does not depend on data about the state of air pressure and is more accurate.

The BR01 Altimeter watch, presented at the exhibition, repeats in its graphic design the image of the aircraft barometric altimeter. In such way the masters have expressed the originality of their creations. The main parallel in the watch design has become the date aperture, located at the 3 o’clock position, representing a window on the original instrument, indexing the atmospheric pressure.
The dial of the model consists of two levels - the two independent discs. Time indexes are made in exactly the same style numbers as on the altimeter. The hands are also made in the form of hands of the device, indicating hours, minutes and seconds.
Hands and time indices are covered by photo luminescent coating which provides a reading in almost any lighting conditions.
BR01 Altimeter watch case is made of black matte carbon fiber, which is also inspired by aircraft instrument panel.
The original BR01 Altimeter watch operates based on the automatic movement ETA 2896. Functions: hours, minutes, seconds, date indication.
The watch case in diameter of 46 mm is made of carbon fiber in black PVD coating. Crown - screwed.
Dial model - black. The date aperture is located at the 3 o’clock position. Time indexes, hands, and the date aperture are covered with photo luminescent coating. The glass, covering the dial, is sapphire with antiglare coating. The watch water-resistant is 100 meters. The watch strap is made of rubber.
BR01 Altimeter watch is released in a limited edition of 999 instances. To buy the watch will be available through the stores of Bell & Ross and the official representatives of the company.
