BaselWorld 2012: Bell & Ross Company introduces new watches from Aviation Collection. BR01 Horizon Watch

The watch line Aviation Collection - one of the most striking works of Bell & Ross, inspired for the creation with the design of the cockpit instrumentation, instrument panel and, of course, romance of the sky and its conquest. In the watches of this collection the company’s masters are turning to the four fundamental requirements for the Instruments, located on the dashboard of the plane: accuracy, functionality, precision and water resistance.
At the annual international exhibition BaselWorld 2012 the company has introduced three new models, in their design, in which is fully reflected the graphic style of professional instrumentation tools: the watches BR01 Horizon, BR01 Altimeter and BR01 Turn Coordinator.
However, the uniqueness of the watches is not only in their design. The models presented at the exhibition will go on sale in a limited edition, so that fans of professional chronometer have to hurry to buy the watches.
Each model will be presented in a box that would certainly be a pleasant surprise for collectors, as if in this box there is a small piece of an airplane cockpit.
BR01 Horizon watch is performed in association with the attitude indicator, repeating the design of the device.
The attitude indicator – an indicator of the relationship: the device, showing the position of the aircraft relative to the horizon. When the plane lifted into the sky, the device indexes its attitude towards the "snub nose", because the "nose" of the aircraft - over the horizon.
When the plane down (or falling), then the indicator shows the ratio of the relationship, "the nose dropped," because in this case the "nose" of the aircraft - below the horizon.
With regard to the position of the aircraft during the flight, it can be changed by the pilot at any time. For example, if the pilot sees on his instruments, that "nose" of his plane down under the horizon, it must make a change and raise the plane above the horizon.
Masters of Bell & Ross borrowed a graphic design of the attitude indicator to create the original model BR01 Horizon. So, you can specifically trace the parallel between an airborne unit and the watch in the design of the dial.
Like the original instrument of the plane face the dial of the watch consists of two levels - the two independent discs. The disc, located in the background of the dial, is divided into two parts: gray, symbolizing the sky and black, symbolizing the earth. These two parts are separated by a white stripe, which symbolizes the horizon, connecting the "third" and "ninth" time indexes.
At the first plan of the dial there is a disc with time indexes, made in the form of lines that provides optimum readability of the time.
Between the two discs are located the watches, made in various forms, which also contributes to easy reading of time.
The general style of the watches, it should be noted, is executed in a minimalist style. Among other things, the hands and time indices are covered by the photo luminescent coating, so that you can easily see the time even in the dark - a worthy tool bar having a claim to the title of a professional.
The watch case is made of matte black carbon, also refers to its original design to aircraft inspiration.
The BR01 Horizon watch is made on the basis of an automatic mechanism ETA 2892. Functions: hours, minutes.
The watch case in diameter of 46 mm is made of steel with black PVD coating. Crown - screwed.
The dial of the model consists of two levels. At the first level there is time indexes, the second level is divided into two parts: the gray and black, separated by the horizon line. Time indexes, the horizon line and the watch hands are covered with a special photo luminescent coating.
The glass, covering the dial, is sapphire with antiglare coating. The watch water-resistant is 100 meters. The watch strap is made of rubber, with stitching and from a heavy-duty canvas.
