The new edition of the “Latin Lover” collection by the Italian Locman watch brand
Locman is an Italian watch company, founded by Marco Mantovani in 1986. At first the company was producing chronographs for other brands, but in 1997 its managing directors decided to produce watches under their own brand. Soon the company has won its reputation in the world's fashion circles thanks to such models, as the “Linea Sport” collection, for example. During the consecutive years the company continued growing and developing and, as a result, nowadays Locman watch company is one of the biggest Italian wrist watch manufacturers in the market. Its timepieces were seen on the wrists of many world-famous celebrities, such as David Beckham and Elton John.
The company's experts are sure in the success of thinking out-of-the-box. It's no coincidence that they managed to gain a broad clientele all around the world, creating unbelievable combinations of precision, creativity and non-standard materials. The company is proud of the fact, that its workers develop sustainable and creative wrist watches for the prices, lower than their competitors'.
Much lighter and more refined, this iconic men's and women's time measuring instruments, stunning with their aesthetics, were reissued on the event of the 10th anniversary of the first Latin Lover series models' production. While creating this interpretation of the Latin Lover collection, the Alba island-based brand's designers strived for increasing the watches' wearability and enhancing their basic feature – the innovative, timeless design. This resulted in a wrist watch model with a very resolute outlook, performing the greatest emotional impression, reached by the combination of “mechanical” motives and curved lines.
The four enlarged “floating” lugs, fixing the timepiece on a strap, bring the element of post-industrial style to the watch's design. At the same time, the design of the lugs accentuates the anatomic shape of the cambered case, made of titanium and stainless steel and the wide carved crystal with sapphire coating: thus the Latin Lover series' models enclose your wrist in a soft embrace.
The mechanical caliber with automatic self-rewind was elaborated specifically for this collection by S.I.O., the Scuola Italiana di Orologeria (The Italian School of Watchmaking), based by Locman watch company in 2006. You can watch the movement's operation through the transparent aperture on the timepieces titanium case back. The Latin Lover version with a mechanical caliber is executed in “maxi” size (60x40 mm), while the version with the mother-of-pearl dial, which measures 50x32 mm, is designed for more feminine wrists.
